Tahitian

The Tahitian pearl is cultivated in French Polynesia, by an indigenous bivalve mollusc known as Pinctada margaritafera-cumingi (or black-lipped oyster). Such pearls are coveted for naturally dark colours with undertones and overtones of green, blue, aubergine, silver and gold. Tahitians are cultivated in sizes from 8mm up to 23mm.
